INTRODUCTION

Lux Boreal
was founded in the year 2002 like a necessity of its founders of projecting their career as dancers and choreographers when they where about to finish their studies at the School of Contemporary Dance of Mazatlan.

By those moments, dancing in Mexico was going though many transitions, due to political, social and cultural phenomena.

The members of Lux Boreal decided to join the movement of decentralization of the dance as they chose the city of Tijuana, Baja California to develop as a young company. It was thanks to the support granted by Casa de la Cultura de Tijuana, as well as the Municipal Institute for Art and Culture, the of Baja California Institute of Culture and the Cultural Center Tijuana that Lux Boreal has been able to develop in a fertile land for the contemporary artistic movements, in a city that today is becoming a cultural shaft in Mexico, with unimaginable reaches beyond its frontiers.
